澳門歷史城區自2005年被列入世界遺產名錄，特區政府便對大三巴世遺核心區及周邊區域展開研究工作。

本研究對大三巴西軸區域展開概念性的城市規劃工作，經過研究團隊充分的考慮和綜合各方面的條件後，提出了初步規劃概念方案。在平衡各方利益及考慮到城市的實際需要後，本研提出以扶持舊區經濟環境及平衡旅客與舊區需求，為澳門創設宜居宜遊的城市環境；並以歷史文化保護、優化空間環境、綜合交通規劃和強化旅遊特色的規劃策略。

Project Description

The Historic Centre of Macao has been inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2005. The Macao SAR Government has been carrying out research on the core and surrounding area of the heritages since then.

The study aims to develop conceptual city plan focusing on the West –axis of the Ruins of St. Paul. Conceptual plans were proposed after consideration of various factors. By balancing the interests of all parties and considering the needs of the city, a plan which could support the economic growth of old neighborhoods, balance the needs of visitors and locals is conceived. The plan embodies planning strategies including historical and cultural conservation, space utilization optimization, comprehensive transportation planning and enhancement of tourism characteristics.
